Norway’s second-largest city, Bergen is known for its pretty harbor, the colorful Bryggen quarter, and seven mountains, which surround the town. As a UNESCO World Heritage City and a European City of Culture, Bergen has an ideal combination of nature, culture and exciting urban life all year around.

Bryggen is one of Bergen's and Norway's main attractions, and the old Hanseatic wharf and buildings have been included in UNESCO's World Heritage List.

The fjords of Norway are one of the world's most popular attractions, and Bergen is the perfect starting point for exploring the beautiful fjords.
MOUNT FLOYEN
The Fløibanen Funicular - which is one of Norway’s best-known attraction. The funicular will take you to 320 m above sea level, to Mount Fløyen, where you can enjoy spectacular views of Bergen. Or, join us for a hike from the city center to the top.
The seafood, tourism, media and culture sectors are big employers in the area, with the annual Nordic Media Festival – the biggest of its kind in Norway – taking place in Bergen every May. The Norwegian Media Cluster is a world leader when it comes to augmented reality, graphics, visualization, digitalization, broadcast and television technology.

Inhabitants of Bergen - called Bergens - speak a unique dialect that is instantly recognizable.
The storyline of the animated comedy from DreamWorks, Trolls, is about the rescuing of the trolls, who have been captured by the Bergens during a dance party. Apparently the Bergens think that they need to eat trolls to be happy. In RL, Trolls and Bergens are friends and you can meet both at Mount Fløyen in the Troll Forest.
Local beer is called Hansa
Bergen was the capital of Norway in the thirteenth century
Cinnamon buns, called skillingsboller, are popular across Norway, however the origin is Bergen. Back in the day they used to cost a shilling.
At Mount Fløyen, you can enjoy the view, and also meet “The Fløyen Boys” - the Goats of Mount Fløyen. They are cashmere goats, and help keeping the greenery at bay. They are very social and might join you for a selfie.
